At the high-tech LED lighting exhibition in 2013, Jiang Shidong, the director of Dongguan Zhongzhi Optoelectronics Marketing, showed the reporter some of the company's business expansion plans in the field of home lighting in 2014, but the first half of this year has passed and the relevant market expansion is still in progress. Face some difficulties.

However, although the development of home lighting is difficult, many companies have not given up this huge potential market opportunity. "Although it is difficult to promote home lighting products, since we have formulated relevant policies, we must definitely go unswervingly." Jiang Shidong said.

"At present, the entire home lighting industry is still dominated by traditional lighting fixtures. At present, no company doing LED home lighting is doing very well." Jiang Shidong told Gao Gong LED reporter.

As Jiang Shidong said, although the current LED product technology is gradually maturing, and the price of LED lighting products is constantly approaching traditional lighting products, its application is mainly limited to commercial lighting. According to the statistics of the High-tech LED Industry Research Institute (GLII), in 2013, LED indoor lighting has surpassed landscape lighting and outdoor lighting to become the most important application areas of LED, and commercial lighting is dominant.

In June 2013, another GLII survey showed that the proportion of ordinary consumers who have a clear understanding of LED indoor lighting is only 25%. From this point of view, LED lighting products to truly enter the "ordinary people's home" still face the problem of "access barriers." The lack of comprehensive understanding of LED products by ordinary consumers is one of the main obstacles restricting their promotion.

Moreover, in terms of price, although LED lighting products are constantly reducing prices, the price is still not the same as traditional lighting. Especially in the price of brand lamps, the price reduction of the overall brand lamps this year is limited, and the price of LED lamps is still higher than that of traditional lighting fixtures. In addition, the uneven quality of LED products in the market has also restricted its development.
