Light-emitting soft LED sensor at the touch

For the first time, scientists have combined LED light sensors with electronic devices made of polymers to create a new flexible sensor that can be elastically deformed, and when people touch it, it glows.

It sounds simple, but it is not easy to place light sensors and electronics made of different crystal materials on the same substrate. The microstructures in crystalline materials are easily repelled.

When people put pressure on the sensor, this pressure changes the current to each nanowire and makes the sensor shine. The greater the applied pressure, the more elastic the sensor becomes, and the brighter the light it emits. It is not a passive sensor, it is interactive, integrating sensing and processing. This is not the same as the touch screen on a normal mobile phone or tablet. The touch screen works by the micro-power generated between the human fingers.
