With the development of nanotechnology, scientists have predicted that in the near future, mobile touch screens will become obsolete. By then, people can operate mobile phones without touching the screen. The mobile phone can charge itself under any light source.
The "Science" magazine published on the 10th reported that the display screen in the future contains a large number of light-emitting diodes made of tiny nanorods with a diameter of less than 5 microns. It is not only used to display information, but also has a powerful interactive function, which can be controlled with gestures or laser pointers.
These tiny nanorods are made from three semiconductor materials, one of which emits and absorbs visible light, and the other two are used to control the current through the first material. The combination of the three can cause the light emitting diode to emit light, sense light, and react to the light, so that the apparatus can receive operation instructions issued by the light while displaying the information.
Future displays respond to light like solar cells and can capture ambient light to charge the device. By that time, there is no need to install solar cells on the device to allow the device to have enough energy.
