ROHM releases SMD LED "SML-D15 Series" to achieve a single layer structure in the industry

ROHM released the 1608-size SMD LED "SML-D15 Series" on November 20, 2015. Applicable to display devices such as car audio, instrument panel and other industrial equipment, consumer products.

The new product has been thoroughly fabricated from the component manufacturing stage, reducing the brightness error to 1/4 of the original, thus achieving a single-layer structure (originally a multi-layer structure) that is rare in the industry, which is beneficial for eliminating various applications. The brightness error reduces the design load.

In addition, by adjusting and optimizing the LED lighting elements, the maximum brightness is three times that of the original product. The highest level of brightness in the industry is achieved in the 1608 size (1.6mm x 0.8mm). The new product supports the reliability standard "AEC-Q101" for in-vehicle discrete semiconductor devices.

Samples will be available starting in September 2015 (sample price 100 yen / month, excluding tax). The pre-process was carried out at ROHM headquarters (Kyoto, Japan) and ROHM-Wako Electronics (Malaysia) in Malaysia. The post-process was undertaken by Roma Semiconductor (China).
