Toshiba will launch a large light-emitting LED bulb on November 15

[High-tech LED News] Toshiba Lighting Technology has released a new light bulb type LED lighting product - the large light type "normal bulb type 10.6W". The light distribution angle is 260°, which is the same as the bulb type fluorescent lamp. The product is scheduled to go on sale on November 15, 2011.

The brightness of the new product is equivalent to a 60W incandescent bulb, the white light flux is 1000lm, and the bulb color is 810lm. Toshiba said that the product has the highest brightness in the large light distribution products. The rated power consumption is 10.6W.

According to the introduction, in order to effectively release the heat of the LED element to the outside, the new product is provided with a rib-like heat sink "three-arch heat sink" at three positions inside the lampshade (hemispherical cover portion). In an LED bulb, the heat generated by the LED element is generally dissipated through a housing in which the power source and the substrate are mounted. In the new product, the heat transferred from the LED element to the substrate is released from the lampshade via the three-arched heat sink. Thereby, the heat dissipation efficiency is improved compared with the original product, and the brightness equivalent to the 60 W bulb can be achieved while maintaining the shape of the bulb.
